Why is it that he failed to do much in four years, and what exactly make you believe that he will do anything in the four next years ?
United States education is fairly bad, but it is because of two parts. First as it was mentioned above some student just don't want to learn because they think there are more important things like going to a party or something. Then they fail out of college and go into the army or some low paying job like McDonalds or something. The other part is that some schools are underfunded and/or have bad teachers, some kids can't a good education even if they try to in some parts of the United States. As for the "no child left behind", it did improve schools to an extent, just not the extent Bush wanted, so he is trying to improve the act to improve schools once again. As for me, I have no problems with my school, I live in the 3rd richest county (and yes I do mean county) in the entire United States.

Actually you're an idiot. You just prooved me right, as i said everything west of Urals is in Europe meaning that i live in Europe, meaning that Russia is located on both continents Europe and Asia. Also our European part is larger then most European countries.
Well I am sorry I am an idiot for trying to help you, i'll try not to help you anymore.

Argh!

Wow, so Russia has a large part of it in europe. Whoopty-Friggin-Do! :hbut Who really cares? I had a friend, way back when I was in the 3rd grade, that came here from Russia, back when it was a superpower. He said that it was not a good place to live. Since I have never been there I cannot say what it is like. But, I will not generalize an entire country as sucking just because I don't agree with some things that they do. Russia has it's own problems. From what I see in the news there is a lot of violence and corruption. Even the police are willing to kill hostages to end a standoff. Does that mean that Russia is full of stupid people that go around killing people? No, only a small percentage of people cause the problems. The same is true over here in the U.S.A.. I am sure there are a lot of uneducated people in Russia, does that make ALL of Russia a bunch of idiots? No it does not. Are there NO people in russia that live the way they want to live and not follow other peoples lead? I seriously doubt it. If people didn't do things differently from time to time then we would still be living in caves. Sometimes doing something different does not work, sometimes it does. Our measuring system is something that is not the same as yours but it works for us. So what! What does it really matter to you? Is using your system hurting you? I agree that it is not easy to convert from one thing to another but it is the system that we have. I do like using the metric system sometimes but I like our normal system for doing construction (inches and feet). I don't really need to say a 12' 2x4 is 4 yards long. I have not really heard anyone use the yard as a measurement since school. But does this hurt you? Are you somehow injured by our use of feet and inches? Or does having milk come in gallons ruin your economy? So why are you so upset with our system? Is it that you just can't figure it out? Instead a raving about it, maybe you could read about it's use. I doubt you'ds spend the time doing any research. It is too easy to say "My way is better" and "You should change over to our system, everyone is using. One of us, one of us. Be a lemming." Your constant complaining is NOT going to make someone flip a switch and say "Hey, let's switch over to the metric system cuz some nugget in Russia says we are stupid for using our system." Give me a break. If you don't like our country, then please STAY OUT! I am not saying this to all people from different countries, I am just saying it to the specific people that say that they HATE America, yet move here and live in a land that they hate. If you are one of those people then you should move out to a place that you would be happy. Don't let the door hit you on the way out!

Education in the US varies from state county. Where I live, the schools are better than most private schools, even with 28+ people class-sizes. The dropout rate has went to under 0.03% or so within the last two years, and scores have went up. Definately one of the best schools in the US. However, some places (even in the same state) have minimal education, leading to high dropout rates. The reason for this? The schools in the US rely on several things:

1) MONEY. It is what makes the world go 'round.
2) Government Cheese. Places like Washington DC are full of human waste. They get free money from the government because they are minorities (which is the biggest racist BS in the world. Sure, give the arab guy free money and not the white man. Isn't the point of ridding us of racism that you can't choose what color you are. What if I don't want to be white, huh?) or in poverty. They aren't modivated to actaully work, since they get money. This is exactly like the drug problem in Scotland. People get a job and rehab for gov't cheese, then quit and spend the cash on drugs, rince, and repeat. If the people apply for jobs, they get cash. Doesn't matter if they get the job. Infact, they purposely don't get the job.
3) Location. In general, the north is more intelligent than the south, and the west more than the east. This is simply because easterners are more prone to government money, and southerners usually are farmers. Thats how it generally is, there's plenty of exceptions.
4) Weather. This is actually a HUGE factor, believe it or not. Suicide rates are high in seattle because of the rain. Colarado is FILLED with goths and dropouts, etc.

However, the colleges are HORRIBLE in the US. People would rather get a degree than to learn from it. My dad teaches a college, and one of my old teachers did. My dad noticed half of his students never attend class, and fail the easiest of tests. My ex-teacher went to a British college, and explained that American Colleges are giant daycare centers.

My plans for college are either serve the army, or attend community college, then get a degree somewhere, on something. Then, later, go to Britain and retake college. Between army and CC, it depends on who the pres is, and my family's financial status (my sister goes to college a year apart, so unless she waits a year after highschool, I will have to serve or wait two years, or get a scholarship.)

i'll have to say i disagree with l33t one with the colleges thing. although the united states public school systems are quite weak

In the old days, the US public education system was much stronger until this mainstreaming stuff occured. mainstreaming is where you put all pretty much all students of the same grade into the same english class. so even if someone is a dumbass and your not so dumbass, the class must take it slowly so everyone can keep up...

of course, ap classes, honors classes, still exist they have been "easier" to say the least due to the effects of mainstreaming. this is whats happening here in cali....

i dunno about elsewhere... like l33t said, it probably varies

in america, you have a large selection of colleges to choose from. of course there are bad colleges but the very best colleges in the world are located right in the United States. The government sponsored UC system in california are top notch, let me not UC Berkeley and UCLA.

The Ivy League, Harvard, Stanford, Brown, Cornell, Princeton.... etc

Others include Caltech, Harvy Mudd, to name a few.

What do foreigners have??
all i can think of is Oxford.... and that I think is in Britain.

Because of mainsteaming and affirmative action, the greatest colleges in the US cannot compare to any of the colleges in england. People only care about getting their certifications and diplomas so that they can take an easy ride through life. The question I ask is that even if you make millions, you are in no way superior to those who make less, but know more. They live VERY shallow lives.

First of all i am one of those happy people who are living in their own nation and don't want to come to your country. Second of all, whatever goes on in your coutnry doesn't upset me, but it is something to debate about, thus making some of you people less ignorant and less arrogant. Besides, its amusing to see you mumble your nonsense

The fact that you can't think of any european colleges but Oxford only shows your ignorance and doesn't reflect on reality in any way.
