| Hum, this is such a vague subject. you really should have specified a litle but more. For exemple, the most powerfull weapon, or country, or culture, or living being... ect.
Anyway, I'd say the most powerrful "thing" on Earth is a Superorganism of humans, that is, a large groupe of people linked together by a "meme". Its most likely a civilisation, altough some civilisation, like ours (western) are not coherant enough, so we'd have to speak of it in terms of nations. So, a superorganism of humans is, in theory, immortal, it has the potential to perpetuat itslef indefinatly, it has the potential to leave its home planet and spread indefinetly, berf, it has infinit potential.
Has anyone else read the luciferian principle ? |

No it doesn't look brain isn't something limitless, first it is limited by your body, second by its own ability and campacity, remove a small piece of your brain and you will not be able to talk. We have just enough for us to do all the things we do. Our brain has limits, thats what evolution is for, it is for expanding those limits.

but if the human only uses 10% of their brain power, wouldint they not be able to measure the 10% without knowing what 100% is,also 10% is 10/100 , so once you get to 100,wouldint that be a limit?

| I don't quite see how they measure how much of our brain we "use". Each part of our brain is used to perform a certain function...if they are measuring it electrical impulses, then I still fail to see how that is scientifically provable.
The most powerful thing on earth in my opinion is the human influence. It has the power to create, power to heal, power to destroy, and most importantly of all, the power to control. Our influences over other people, and over other objects, is definately the most dangerous as well...there are several examples in our history, and one story in Russian history that seems to come to mind...which perhaps Kuzmich knows more about that one, but still. Our influence can create a placebo over the human mind, and make it believe whatever the controller wants it to, as long as the influence is strong enough...it can fire those nukes that you people are so afraid of, it can rupture our existance as we know of, then again it could also get us through the 22nd century. It all depends on what the user wants to use it for.

| The human mind is the strongest and most dangerest thing, I agree Galatia... It controls every part of you, basically. Your strength, reflexes, what you do, where you go, everything. Say you are trained to be strong and have good reflexes, great... You have those reflexes and are strong, if you can train your mind to give you reflexes and to be strong, what is stopping it from being the strongest thing in the world?

So far, we did expend our limits, but if our environment drasticly changed for a reason or another, we could be forced to physicaly regress (more fur, stronger body). Then again, our brain capacity would theoricly be the same, for they say that even a neandertal kid has the same brain potential than a modern kid.
Anyway, as I said above, what stronger than a mind of a brain is a group/superorganism composed of such, all linked by a meme. Actualy, the mind in the singular as nothing to do in this. Virus and bacteries dont have a mind (they do have a collective on, tough, and much, much more potent than our collective brain), but they could, in theory, whipe us out the planet.

| The human brain has no limits but everything else around it - Mother Nature - does. The problems arise every time the human mind thinks that everything else around it has no limits as well (unfortunately, *having no limits* is not synonymous to smart...)

| What exactly IS a limit? Orcryst, I did a search, and read your other posts. You seem kinda short sighted in asking this question. Why don't you ask "What is power?"?
ON TOPIQUE:
I mean, why do we say "the mind is limitless" or "not limitless"? I mean... what do we mean by "limits", anyway? I mean, do you really suppose that we can prove whether that is true or not by conducting science expriments? What gives us such an idea that makes us want to even DIVIDE our mind into percentages. Maybe we only THINK we use 10% of our brain, and every test that proves this is a fake! I sincerely agree with Ilarian, because he said that we cannot define a "most powerful" thing. But if I were forced to choose, I would say "messages" or "ideas". You could influence the strongest thing, or richest person if the receptor understands you. The mind may have limits, but to what it can do, THIS, my friends, WE MAY NEVER KNOW.

For exemple, grownt, or apoptose, is programed inside each individual cell. |

| Earth itself is a great power. I think once it is tired with how we abuse it, it will just "reset" and life will restart again.
