| Sports Scholarships I don't get why colleges give out sport scholarships. If someone is good at sports does not mean they should go to college. The place the college has reserved for the athlete could have been given to a very smart and intellegent person, instead of a athlete who will probably fall out anyways.

| Intellegence get a college prestige, because they can get the student to research with the professors.

| I think it's because many people value athletic ability over intellect. For some reason, we seem to think sports stars are more important than people who work as teachers, doctors, firefighters, etc.
...Or maybe they do just want prestige. I have no idea. |

| Athletes make them money?
They bring people to the stadiums who are willing to pay money to watch a bunch of athletes play FOR FREE and while they are there they buy stuff that makes the schools even more money. |

| Not all athletes are stupid would if they can't a aford college but aren't smart enough to get a scholarship does that mean they shouldn't get a chance to go to college. Just because someone isn't a genius doesn't mean they don't deserve a chance in life. |

| It gives people who often times cannot afford to go to college and would otherwise end up on the side of the road selling drugs and actual chance to get an education and at least attempt to do something with their life. And not all people who are on scholarship are dumb, i qulified for both academic and sports scholarships, and i chose sports.

| If you can't make the grades you don't stay on a scholarship, so the athletes have to make atleast decent grades. |

| We actually have to stay on pace with a regular student with hour requirements and % of degree requirements for each year, so you are on a plan where you have to graduate or you will not play.
