Mary Magdalin... (SP?)

I'd like to ask who read the da vinci code, and what are your thoughts on mary magdalin? Do you beleive what he said? I recently bought a book on the subject, its very good, and i will post my opinion later. The book's called something like the Unofficial Guide to the Da vinci code. I'll go find it later.

Well... I did make a thread on it

But in any case, there is no way she was ever married to Jesus like she said. In no other scriptures, Christian, even Agnostics found recently, does it ever say anything about that.

But besides, Dan Brown tried to put it like if he was married, that takes away from Jesus's divinity. In no way is marriage a sin, or anything bad.

Mary Magdalin, She was a good woman for Jesus. J wasn't much of a fighter and preaching about love and turning the other cheek your bound to piss some peepz with swords off. So Instead of them Stabbing Brother Jesus. Mary would offer to Let them Stab her with their Roman Meat Wands. This worked out pretty good still she got all Loosed out. Then they just Put ole J up on the cross.. What a mistake there.. but hey seemed like the thing to do at the time. eh?

Actually, in those days, it said Jewish Rabbi's weren't allowed to be married, that's why they say it makes him less divine.

And it's not in a gospel, Dan Brown tried to say that it was mentioned in the bible, and he has no proof.

Believe me dude, between my church and friends, we've done some big studying in this book.

Jesus wasn't a Rabbi. And exactly how would being married make him less divine? What, is marriage a sin now?

Marriage is not a sin. However, it is not allowed if you are a Catholic priest or a nun. That to me is a silly idea to begin with, but I can understand why the Catholic church can see a significant other being somewhat of a distraction to the clergy, thus causing them not to put so much time and effort into the Church.

I believe I read somewhere that the Vatican is reviewing that particular rule, and its effect on the priests in relation to the numerous pedophile accusations.

Gee, I didn't know Jesus was a Catholic, seeing as how he came before the Church...

Well the purpose of a priest is the human representation of jesus. Now if jesus was married as mentioned in the book, then why would the priests have to take the vow of celabacy?

So in answer to this in the 10th(?) century or so, the pope of the time bannished all the gospels that are now lost except for the 4 that we have now, and declared Mary a prostitute to lower her statute in society. Why would he have done this? To protect Jesus and the christian religion.
