Would Jesus be Catholic?

Imagine that no one here is going to start bashing Christianity.

The Christian faith is based on the works of Jesus Christ , who preached love for all the world, etc.

Would Jesus, reborn through some cosmic accident, be a Catholic?

Jesus' Ministry - Preaches platonic love (agape) for all mankind.

1st century AD - Constantine adopts Christianity as a political expedient. Parts of the gospel are rewritten. The gnostic gospels are discarded.
Mary Magdalene (the wife of Christ) is demonised as a harlot.

Middle Ages - Crusades. All the stuff we hate about Christianity.

Renaissance - The church begins to split into small pieces.

Modern Days - End of church as a political power (ie. attempting to right wrongs, Vatican II, abusive priests).

Catholics don't worship the saints, Tronga. They merely respect them because they are supposedly closet to God because of their amazing deeds in life.

You know I usually lack the words, but it's something between worshiping and respecting. They worship God and Jesus, and they respect the priests. The saints are somewhere in the middle.

My country is a catholic country, and that's what I've understand, so far, of what is the relation between the catholics and their saints. They wouldn't have sanctuaries for them if they only respected them.

I say he'd be pissed at the church for various reasons. I doubt he would want to be associated with most of the forms of organized religion we have today, so I don't think he would be Catholic. Meh, who knows.

He wouldn't be Catholic because he wouldn't have a religion, but instead a philosophy. A religion worships something, which Jesus Christ is going to worship Jesus Christ.

jewish people rejected him because they believe he was to be born into royalty and be a real king. Intsead he was born a son of a carpenter. Aslo they crucified him because they did not want to do away with the gambling done inside of the church.

Christ would be ashamed of what the Romans did to His teaching in Catholisism. He would likely grow more ashamed seeing his teachings spread and grow incorrectly. It is true that adaption may have been needed to survive, but removing women from their rightly spot as head of the moral and ethical household...that is not something He would like. There is no True Church. There may have been at the begining, during the harshest pursecution of Christians.

The Jews did not reject him. Christ is one of the "universally" accepted Saints. He is a Saint, a Profit, to the Jewish people, and He is the same to the Islamic faith. He was slain at the cross because the Roman's needed a scapegoat, and propaganda was used to such effect.

If you look at the Bible, by itself, it has been altered by human frailties so that the quid-pro-quo could be kept by the Romans. Women lost power and respect that the Bible truely teaches. It also lost some of its power. There are groups trying to revive the original text, but that may be difficult. With propaganda like Christ being married and having children...irrepitable damage may have been done.

The religion was destroyed by Christ. The relationship was created. When people get that through their thick skulls, the Earth will no longer have a purpose and will be engulfed in the Life Flame that GOD promised would destroy the planet. Christ preached love and forgiveness.

Are there still sins? Yes! Are they the same as from the Old Testement? Yes and No. Christ, however, told the world that he would take its sins and wash them away as He plunged Himself into the very fires of Hell. The truests sense of Christ's message is:

Religion is dead. Leave your theologies behind and simply live for a true relationship with GOD. Love GOD as GOD loves you and you will get to see Heaven on that Glorious Day.


That is the message, in as few words as possible. The Christian community has been "forced" (figuratively speaking) to forget that. So...my answer is He would be ashamed of what has happened to the Message.

I think he would be Jewish. I am in no way a believer in Christ, but I have read the Bible and I do believe I saw something in there that said he was raised Jewish. Why strike everything your mother has taught you away? I mean...that would kind of be dishonoring his parents, which is a sin right?

well first of all jesus is infact black... or a tanish color... theres no way he can be whight, think about it there was no whight people in the area he was born back then. i dont know why in every single pictur he is whight because he is a tanish color or black...

ummmmm.... ya catholicasim was NOT the first, it might be the biggest, but there were many more before it. Also cathlic do WORSHIP saints, just not directly, and of all the sects of christianity, catholics are the worst, and most stupid.
