after watching the recent ramblings of these Muslim clerics i find myself resentful to them as a race.

This is bad I know but the fundamentalist attitude seems to be not only confined to the minority but seems as though (maybe not in the extreme) most muslims agree.

The Islamic religion is not a peaceful religion, despite what people will say. The Qur’an literally teaches if someone opposes that religion- kill them. It is a hostile religion. Of course not every muslim follows that doctrine so closely, but it is there. Some radicals are carrying it out and committing these attacks.


Its hard not to hold all Muslims in spite, but I must not. Anger distorts thinking. Hopefully this problem can be solved relatively peacefully; though I know it will not be so.

Muslim clerics have a right to be exercising their freedom of speech, or no? Are we not trying to teach a predominantly muslim based nation, what democracy is? If we are occupying their land and declaring martial law AFTER we bombed the shit out of them, of course this thing is to be expected.

What, did you actually imagine these people would take it laying down? They hate the U.S. so naturally this was bound to happen. You can't hold it against them.

If you're going to claim that the Quraan "literally teaches if someone opposes that religion- kill them", please do so WITH supporting evidence, perhaps a verse of two from the Quraan. Just for your information, the Quraan teaches that bloodshed without cause is haram(*1). People are allowed to oppose the religion, people are allowed to preach their own religion to muslims. In fact, the quraan says something along the lines of 'anyone who kills a muaahid (*2) will never enter heaven'. Basically the Quraan says you can believe what you want to believe, but come judgement day, its your decisions in life and the beliefs you held that'll decide whether its heaven or hell you end up in.

The radicals are so radical because they misinterpret the Quraan and Hadiths.

I really hate how ppl look down on Islam cause of a bunch of idiots who claim they're muslims while conducting suicide attacks and taking hostages...

(btw...EVERYTHING's that happened so far, the 9/11 bombings, the whole shiite uprising thing, taking hostages, whatever, is all wrong in the eyes of Islam, i've actually bothered to ask a coupla Imams(*3) and Mutaawas(*4))

This topic has nothing to do with Christianity, but since you have brought it up, I might as well debunk that arguement.

In NO WAY does the Bible say kill all homosexuals, that is so far from the truth I am stunned. The Bible teaches that homosexuality is a sin (if you agree is a different story), yes, you are right. Where you are wrong is that all sin has been forgiven, that is why Christ died. If you turn from the sin, and believe in God; you will be in Heaven for eternity. A homosexual is not a Christian, not one who continues the practice (Dont attack me for saying this, it is what the Bible teaches) for if they were a Christian; they would stop the homosexual relations. Love the sinner; hate the sin.

As for masturbation, it is wrong according to the Bible... some say. But that doesnt mean you will burn in Hell. The same as before, all sins have been forgiven.

Christianity is a peaceful religion because of what it teaches. *NOTE* THAT DOES NOT MEAN WARS HAVE/WILL NOT BE FOUGHT. THEY WILL. It teaches to turn the other cheek, love thy neighbor, and to not commit murder. The Bible does not say to kill others who do not believe, but to try and save them. A far cry from Islam. Heh, thats the basis of a strong debate. All I can say to that, being no studied theist, is that it's from the laws of ancient Hebrew Scriptures; from the Old Testament. Much (most) of these laws have been banned from modern Christianity. Obviously this law is not carried out; once Christ came back everything changed. Very similar to not doing work on the Sabbath; it is just not followed anymore.

Thats all I can say, and will say in this thread, to keep on topic. I cant give you a great answer for this, sorry. Let me do some research and I can get back to you on it...

Err... The Roman numerals are the "soora" and the numbers following are the verses. (Forgive me if I slaughter the terms, Im not too familiar with them. )

i have not changed my opinion of muslims.. only radical muslims are strapping bombs to their chests and killing people, why judge the whole race? as said above, if we were being invaded, wouldnt you expect some resistance by the public? i think radical christians are just as bad as radical muslims. radical anything is bad. you have to try to be as unbiased as possible to see things the way they are..

9/11 was orchestrated by a minority group of extremist Muslims, who take the Koran to the extremes. They are a minority, and therefore do not reflect upon the majority of Muslims, who are peaceful people.

Possibly the war on terror started a decade ago, before the first guld war began. Osama Bin Laden wanted to send an Afgan unit to fend off the Iraqi Army (as I read), but the Saudis instead opted for the Western Nations, thus the war started then.

I live 60 miles away from NYC, and on the morning of 9/11 I awoke and came downstairs for breakfast before my 11 am math class, and saw the 2nd tower come down. I asked my mom if they made another Die Hard-ish movie and she was crying. I asked her what was wrong and she said it was actually happening, I thought it was a joke of some sort and flipped the channels and it was even on cabel channels. I was scared as hell. I lost five friends who were volunteer firefighters during 9/11 and my Aunt was injured. Anyone who can say that that action was a proper one to commit is disgusting and should be killed. My g/f's father was working on Ground Zero along with her two of her Uncle's. One of her Uncles is NYPD. He won't talk about it to anyone. He only told his wife a few things. She told me that he won't talk about it b/c he had to pull out arms, hands, feet from the rubble. Anyone, ANYONE who can condone an action is a heretic.

Personally I don't hate muslims as a whole, just those groups. And groups like those in Falluhjahella (sp?). Who grenaded civilian SUV, and dragged their torched bodies through town. And hung them off of a bridge. At some point if the UN doesn't agree to step in financially and not just politically, we will have to leave the country in chaos as the Sadaam Baath party is still in strong hold in many cities and another disgusting leader will come to power.
