He means that if schools and restaurants started to serve Halal food (food that Muslims can eat) then they would get more customers, as Muslims will eat there. This makes business sense as it widens the market and increases revenue.

Wow, I've heard some of the misconceptions people have about Islam, but I've never heard something as stupid as that before. Did you get that from Fox News by any chance?
Seriously, I think you should know that there is no such teaching in Islam. We Muslims are taught to invite people to our religion. We are not taught to hate Jews and Christians. In fact, the Qur'an refers to them as "the People of the Book", meaning the people who believed in the the past books of God, the Torah and the Bible. Islamic law (Shari'ah) allows for the freedom of religion, and this was evident in Medieval Islamic civilisations. When Jews were persecuted by the Christians in Medieval Europe, many migrated to Muslim lands in Spain. And even today you will find Muslims very tolerant and respectful of other religions. In Malaysia (where I come from) we have a Muslim majority, and Buddhist, Confucian, Hindu, and Christian minorities, yet hate-crime is practically unheard of. This is because if a land is ruled under Islamic rule, the government has a duty to protect it's people and their freedom of religion. Islam is by no means an intolerant religion.
Small note: A person whose religion is Islam is called a Muslim.
