Weather you are a model or not, it should have little to do with standing around in cloths all day. If you went to a "PhatFarm" or "Manequen" store and tried the same thing you would be denied. Why? Because you do not fit the typical buyer of those cloths. PhatFarm and Manequen clothing lines are generally for african-americans or people from "the Bronx," while Abercrombie And Fitch is generally for the high class white richy people.

If you are truely a model and have a resume like you claim, then you should not have trouble getting a job being a runway model, which would pay much better. So I pose this question to you; Why would you want to work for Abercrombie and Fitch when you could have a higher paying job doing basically the same thing?

First all I would suggest hollister to abercrombie n fitch and ftich. Whil i do wear some abercrombie I prefer hollister becuase I am a surfer looking type of guy. Same clothes basically.

Every clothing enterprise has a image that they belive sells. In case abercrombie its blondes. I think hollister goes for bruneetes I beelive. In either case yea the world is racist. And I think it best you think before simply replying. You see, my point is that I find it hard to even come to the same level when thinking of said store or models or shopping in general. On the point of speaking spanish (or any other lauguage for that matter) to anyone in this country, I completely agree. Me being a asian I can truely speak for both sides. I am a firm beiever that if you are in this country speak english. We have to speak the native lauguage whenever we are in another country seems only fare.

On kicking everyone who is not "white" out of the U.S. is a bit over dramatic, considering this was stolen from the native americans. If anything they should be kicking us all out, or at least charge us for back rent.

Onto A & F I can't stand their store, workers, or clothing. Everything smells of snobbiness. I went in once and only once with a friend of mine who is "black". He is not a "thug" by any means.(actually in college to be a lawyer) He was dressed in a suit, which looked expensive. I was in a dress shirt and blue geans, looking for a tie for a friends wedding. Within seconds of walking in, we were followed around. The security was called, and we did nothing to provoke it. Nothing further happened because left to go to Macy's instead.

I do understand racism, and face it from time to time. Unfortunitly that will happen from time to time. Welcome to the world we live in. Everyone has their view of how things are and what is going on. I do however do not believe your situation falls under "racism".

Now, if their was some comment made, about your ethnicity, sexual prefference, religious belief ect. then their is a difference to it. If you are unhappy with the company, do not support their business. Clear and simple.

On a side note no one deserves to be in a racist situation, but, if you wanna play the racist card things could be alot worse.

Modeling is not "oh look, blonde hair and blue eyes, lets get her!". Modeling is about finding unique-ness, not finding the same Blonde hair and blue eyes. They want something different, something to set the trend.

According to my 6th grade History teacher we were discussing racism and came across Abercombie and Fitch. She said that they only hired anyone but blacks and indians. This indeed is very racist. She might be wrong but its close.

I don't see why a store can't pick their own people to work for them. I think your just pissed off that you didn't get the job and want to blame it on something other than the fact that you might not have been what they were looking for.

There have been these several cases about their racism about hiring people who are anything but white, saying they don't have "The look". This is exactly what modeling isn't. Modeling is about getting a unique look, one that no one else has. Being full and energetic, not the same along with the other blonde hair blue eyes.

Their male models are the basic football loving one hair away from being gay models, blonde hair blue eyes. Not to mention the male clothes are something a woman could fit into. Their clothes are so tiny its outragious.

Abercrombie has been sued many times due to their biased hiring, and I just witnessed it first hand. My hair may not be blonde, my eyes may not be blue, and my skin may not be white, but I am by far better looking than some model they can pick up here.


Its the most racist store I've ever seen and yet everyone loves them. Ideas, thoughts, comments?
