ask yourself this...what was the cause of death? and if you still think it is from the meteor/stab wound well you would have a small % of earth population die from the actual impact of the meteor and be completely wrong about the stab wound.

when i was driving home from a football game last week i saw a meteorite burn up in the sky and the odd thing was it was bright green

I am just saying, if the volcanoes erupted as a result of the asteroid and you took away the asteroid, those volanoes would have never erupted.

Yes I know Newton's Third Law applies to everything (that's probably why it's called a Law). Still do not understand how it's relevent to Earth moving from its orbit.

It would be if the asteroid was either massive or fast enough. And that'd have to be really, really fast.

I think you are mistakening Newton's Third Law with Conservation of Momentum.

Yes, he is. The conservation of momentum says that the sum of the products of the masses and velocities of the bodies of the masses involved in the collision is always conserved (unless a nuclear reaction occurs, in which mass is converted to energy).
