ask yourself this...what was the cause of death? and if you still think it is from the meteor/stab wound well you would have a small % of earth population die from the actual impact of the meteor and be completely wrong about the stab wound.

Yes, he is. The conservation of momentum says that the sum of the products of the masses and velocities of the bodies of the masses involved in the collision is always conserved (unless a nuclear reaction occurs, in which mass is converted to energy). Therefore the asteroid must be of planetary size or travelling incredibly fast.*
