Even though I'm atheist I think that Catholics are more accepting than other Christian religions. I mean the pope is
extreamly smart. Yes, they have made mistakes (e.g. the Crusades), but they have also made important controbutions to human knowledge, e.g. monks studing history, and sciences, and monks copying down literature and important texts.
