You have to go beyond embarassment. You have to finish the conflict in the first fight. Put the kid in the hospital if you have to.. just make sure he won't have enough guts to pull anything on you. You gotta scare the hell out of them.
As for me, its a big deal to have a fist fight in my school.. and it happens rarely. I live in Oregon, were all hippies here

I've only boxed, and with gloves. LoL, the first time I boxed, no one gave me any instructions on technique, so the first blow was at my face (I thought it was illegal to do so..). Kid was pretty strong too.. but I got a hang of it after a few more fights.
