OOC: Just to tell you, they were looking for a person! Specifically, Ryusanen. You just don't know that yet (not actually knowing his history). And, last I checked, there aren't "force shields" in SW, just minor "wrap" shield that protects the hull, a bit. They do had "additional" bulk-heads to cover breaches.

Ryu and Raphael get into the two-manned ship while Byran gets into the fighter. They quickly leave the dock as they see the ship they were on rocked a few more times before exploding. A few minutes later, as they approach the planet, it becomes obvious that they aren't being persued.
