The Modern Fantasy Genre was pretty much created by Tolkien, as everything since then in terms of High fantasy can be traced back to Tolkien.
Since D/D is all fantasy (correct me if I'm wrong I have a life so I don't know ) One could say the vary basic element behind it is derived from Tolkiens work, so Tolkien had a hand in creating the D/D universe you know. |
