They aren't a charity service 24/7 you know. There is an old expression: "Catch a man a fish, it would last him a day. Teach a man how to fish, it will last him a lifetime". It's the way THW operates. And it's also the way I operate in this section. I give a suggestion on what to do, then discover how to do it yourself. But apparently, some people want their answers spoon-fed to them.

I for one can't stand their moderators one bit. If I had a forum, I would never let them even think about modding it. Just because you are surrounded by "stupid" people, doesn't give anyone the right to boss them around.

The purpose of THW is to use their resources for your maps,
but it is courtesy that you should give them credit. I myself have used icons at that site, I remember to credit them somewhere. But since I got Photoshop now, I can easily make my own (as long as I get rid of the Alpha Channels).

Models are difficult. 3DStudioMax can make your models, but the real challenge is scripting the damn thing. Its time consuming, especially when you are just learning it. After awhile though, it eventually becomes readable. I for one can't stand scripting, alas I am a Computer Programmer by profession.

As to regards with DotA, almost their entire custom library is THW work. I know this because every since item I have seen on said site. But although they don' give credit to the THW authors, it gets their work stood out to the masses. And DotA gets redundant and boring too easily. Now it is just pub games with noobs that ban anyone with a logging ping of 200+ ms, with us/ca banlisting, and noobies that either leave or cry over split milk.
