Re: the console war

Xbox 360- A rushed product, but still the best for 2007 as you stated. With its main powerhouse Gears of War using an innovative cover system that makes all other shooters pale in comparison to realism and overall fun; Also with its now older, yet somewhat tiresome, brother Halo gives your frantic side strafing shooter fans what they need.

Also with old retro and now new original content coming on XBox Live arcade it is truly the system to go for if you don't mind being without it for a month about once or twice a year due to what we have all come to know as "the red ring of death"

But with that failure comes an even bigger dissappointment. Microsoft, now taking a HUGE nose dive in profits due to tens of thousands of UPS shippings to their TX repair center, has come out saying that thing all us console owners hate to hear.... "We have a new system coming out."

This upsets most fans because greed exceeds their respect for our loyality to their company. Knowing how anticipated Gears of War 2 will be it will withheld until the newer and "better" xbox comes out. Disgusting.

The Wii: Innovation, promise, and success. All words which seemed all to real for Nintendo. When it first came out yes, all three of those words rang truer than the sky is blue. But as stated above the word gimmicky comes to mind after you have tussled with what they have to offer.

They knew they would never be able to reclaim their once dominate place in video gaming, so they gave up the quest on graphics and instead came out with janky control and camera schemes that overall destroy a possibly good game.

But for the price I do believe you get what you pay for. Fun for everyone open minded enough to accept its faults.

PS3: While I am least associated with this console 2008 may very well be its time to shine. Come out on top, eh. It might just level the playing field enough to were we will see possibly 5-10 exclusives per year, maybe less.

Yet 2008 shows promise for their line up of games. KillZone2 which looks to possibly put a nicer arrangement of flowers on its predicesers grave, along with the very innovative a pretty game "Little Big Planet" a game that has intrigued my interest in a playstation 3, the only thing that sparked it.

But also I have yet to see their new and incredible way of navigating the "menus" if you will call it, Their Sim like "home." Something that might get people's attention for interesting looked ubiquitous crap.

The Ps3 is a rich man's console. If you downed the initial $600 for it to get its "awesome blu-ray" you might not of been aware that you would and will have to blow upwards off $1,000+ on an HDTV with 1080p just see how that technology really pays off.... Brighter, clearer colors. Like a flaming homosexual coloring inside the lines.
