| Leo and Kate both heard the news, as an elated Simon paged their rooms. Leo got up and went to make sure that Simon didn't keel over and have a seizure; Kate went, curious about the child. Of all the soldiers she knew, she had never expected Simon to (be able to) get married, least of all to Divinia, the head medical officer on the ship. Both walked down the hall at a normal pace, in awkward silence; Kate noted how the people in the hall subtly moved out of their way, giving nervous salutes to Leo, who marched with his head down.
They arrived in Medical to see a jittery Simon, pacing back and forth, gnawing on various fingers and looking at the door to Divinia's room. At the sight of Leo, the soldier in Simon instantly snapped a salute. "At ease... and relax, soldier."
Kate, who somehow managed to retain her sense of humor, grinned at the two, and queried Simon. "So... boy, girl, or Nagalisk?"
