| Some things you'll notice 1) There is a new interface graphic for your menus, health and mana bars and shops. There are also two arrow buttons in your stats menu. These will reveal your total bonuses for various buffs you own.
Be warned. The person who made the dragon health and mana bars didn't incorporate a back model. You won't be able to see a direct count of your HP when you go below 50%, unless you reveal your mouse over it. And Swap Weapons button is not there, but W still works and you can still click on something.
2) A1 town has changed. Now it is a village-like city. There are 2 wells for easy access to healing, so no more running to Akara for help.
3) You start with two items. A set Cuber and a Counter Cuber. Both need to be transmuted seperately. The set cuber makes 2 items, a weapon and an armor. Both are part of a Set called "Helping your <current class>". When combined, it gives +1 to that classe's skill, and the weapon and armor recieve an added bonus. This is your base equipment for the game even though you start off naked.
When you kill Corpsefire, you get 2 new items. A boss counter and a Strange Skull. The Boss Counter gains bonuses based on the morphpots you feed it (get these from boss creatures). The Strange Skull is the same thing except with Unknown Wizardry potions. Each potion has a number on it, and each one has a random effect. It takes about 3 potions of that type before you notice something happening. Experiment with various numbers to get what is good for you and what isn't.
4) Enemies are a lot harder to hit and you get hit easily. Raise Levels, get better armor and increase your dex to solve this. But armor is now broken down into tiers because of the insane str requirements. For instance, now it requires 60 Str to equip leather armor, then another 20 for Hard Leather etc.
5) The Burial Grounds are no longer safe. Blood Raven is surrounded by champion zombies and skeletons. There are Hollow Ones from Act 2 in the courtyard and in a cage on the bottom right corner of the map. On the left side, there is a ring of Gargoyle Traps, guarding 8 shrines along with Pitspawn. Wait till you get stronger and are able to hit the traps before engaging either Pitspawn, the Hollow Ones (There are exceptions such as Magic or Assassin charge ups), or the traps.
6) Tristram is now a badass Cathedral. You need to wander through the maze. Griswold has his own armory setup where you will meet him. He also has a random immunity every game. Cain and Wirt are at the end in the torture room.
7) Some monsters have model replacements but may act the same. Like Fallens are now Orcs and have thier own Shaman, and Wendigos are now Bugbears. Be careful though, at the start they can maul you pretty well with thier High hit rate.
8) There is an attack you learn at level 441, DONT LEARN IT. It's an empty skill. |
