The celebration of Winter Solstice in December was a pagan holiday complete with evergreen trees, that marked the return of the light & longer days, centuries before christians invented Christmas. The birth date of Jesus is not known. What is known is the fact that christians placed the celebration of Christmas around Winter Solstice as a way to convert the pagans and they turned pagan symbols of the holidays into christian symbols (like the trees).

Besides, christian faith is about loving and respecting other people (*unchristians* included) and not turing vindictive, agressive and totally unchristian whenever someone makes an anti-christian remark.
