What are your thoughts on clothes made by animals' fur?

Personally, I abhor the thought of having animals' fur on me. However, this is not the issue, it is the issue regarding the way the animals are treated before death. PETA claims the animals are given electric shocks are have their necks broken before they are skinned, and some are skinned alive, before being released once again.

There are organisations representing these clothes and they do have standards for slaughter. However, I don't think these clothes should be allowed. Firstly, it is impossible to fully prove that an animal is dead before being skinned and there is no way of telling if someone just went and shot the animal dead. Secondly, isn't it horrific that so many animals have to die just to make clothing we can make out of plants? Thirdly, some of the animals being killed are becoming rare or endangered.

I hate clothes made of fur. Animals should not be tokens of mankind's domination.*
