| If he's referring to the quotes in your signature I think the first is Ron White and the second is Larry the Cable Guy, but I might be wrong.
Secondly, what's so wrong about an mmorpg? I've beta tested a few myself, and dropped the thing the second it made me pay to play. Personally I can't stand pay to play either, so I'm with you on the anger there.
However, pay to play is a very beneficial style for a company to have. It provides a solid base of income, as long as they keep it updated, compared to the games such as Diablo 1|2, Starcraft, and Warcraft 2|3, which provide them with money once.
Sometimes you've got to look at it from the company's point of view. They only make money while people are buying the game. Then they've got to deal with servers so people will actually buy the game (to play online). Then, they've got to pay employees to maintain the game, the server, and create new games that they can sell so they can have the money to afford all this.
Pay to play is actually a very good system, and I'm almost willing to pay Blizzard to play WoW, because I like the company and the games it puts out. It'd be sad to see Blizzard die because no one wants to give them money. Of course, you've always got to watch and make sure they don't get greedy on you.
Then, of course, the game better be worth paying to play it or it's no deal.
Personally I hope they make D3 free to play like D1|2 but due to aforementioned things I have a sinking feeling it's going to be P2P. Unfortunate, really.
