The New World (Movie Review)

So, I had the idea that this movie would be pretty bombing. It's got Collin Ferral and Christian Bale in it for christ sakes.

Boy was I wrong. I didn't know this was (literally) a Pocohantaus movie. No shit huh? Still didn't know till the very end, during the credits. But yeah, onto the (short, because I'm annoyed) review.

I can literally sum this movie up in a few sentances. English go to "virginia" and meet natives, who they start to fight with. John Smith (Ferral) gets captured, Pocohantaus saves him from death and is going to learn the english ways from him. They fall in love, he leaves to go back to settlement saying they'll leave come spring. Spring comes, they dont leave, indians attack, kill a buncha, english reinforcements arrive and some kind of peace agreement is apparntally made because Pocohantaus is taking "captive" by the english settlement. John Smith leaves and "dies" so P. goes and falls in love with Christian Bale. They have a kid, they go back to England, where she is accepted, finds out John Smith isnt dead. She goes and sees him one last time, and they both go their seperate ways. She dies, end of movie.

Wouldn't be to bad, you know, right? Well, considering that there was (and I'm not joking) around 15minutes of dialouge in the WHOLE movie, which was 2 and a half hours long, the rest was filled with random dancing or random indian bullshit.

So go see it, if you really want. If you're just "meh" on it, and it's one of those "hey, why dont we go to the movies; whats playing?; that The New World movie is all thats playing soon; alright lets go see that" then don't bother. You wont like it.
