This is my frist post, so please bear with... :nooob

I've read some of these posts and here is what I think...

The prime evils are dead, their soul stones are gone, and they are never to return again. so an actual sequel that calls itself diablo and doesn't feature diablo without a DAMN good reason is going ot be dumb regardless of how good the gameplay is and how well it looks. Blizzard might as well try there hand at making a FF XI rip off, which would be lame...and no one wants that.

If the next diablo game is after the world stone is gone, then lets not call it diablo, diablo is dead, and he isn't coming back. The title should reflect the conflict to come, while remaining firm in it's roots to the orginal games.

A prequel was mentioned, and personally I think thats the best way to go, perhasp a story on how Diablo's soul stone got to Tristan, or a story the chrpnoicles the history of the world stone and how the soul stones were forged.

The game should stick to a class sytem (as I believe most of you want) but more customizable. I suppose the best example i can think of is how 3rd edtion D&D works. Your character has ablilites that are only attainable by that class, with a varity of ablilities that every class can dip into.

For example, in the first diablo a warrior could learn spells, but his weren't as powerful. Instead of that warrior learning spells, he could take a class abilitie that improves his attack rating and take an "open" abilitie that improves his running speed.
Or a Necromancer that takes a class abilitie to create more undead and take an "open" abilitie that improves his attack speed.

I think the world has to be vast and expansive perhasp even travel the cosmology of the diablo universe. Personally I would like to see a slightly less randomized world then whats been provided in past games....allow me to furthur explain before you get up in arms as well
A world that youget an atlas and the dungeon you are trying to get to is always in the same place, but the dungeon itself has a random layout.
To keep the gameplay exciting, I'd like the game engine to constanly create random enemy encouters, and not just random undead or demons. I want cuthroats to jump out from behind a tree in the forest and demand a toll to pass through. This is so that even the world is the same, the adventure isn't.

I also want more RP aspects to come up, I want more motivation to save the world other then I was in the right place at the wrong time. Maybe the game engine could create random character backgrounds so that I have a good rp reason to enter that first dungeon that starts my adventure against evil (Yes I believe the theme of you vs. evil should remain).

Well I've posted alot of my thoughts, if I come up with more I'll post them I guess...
