| (#'s & Other Characters) [StarCraft Brood War Dictionary Thread]- 0 Clutter - See Zero-Clutter
- #/# - Refer's to the level of upgrades. The left digit is Weapons Upg, while the right is Armor. For Protoss units, its Attack/Armor/Shields.
- #v1# or #vs# - The number of players in game match-up in the teams. Can also be 2v1, 3v1, and so on.
- ##:## - The designations of teams in 2v2 or more games, where the numbers refers to the slots in screen just before the game starts.
- 7vs1 - See Comp-Stomp.
- 10/9 - Extractor Trick or ET for short. The process of creating Drones up until you cap at 9/9 supply, creating an Extractor to go down to 8/9 supply, building another Drone to go back to 9/9, then cancelling the Extractor to go up to 10/9. It is used to boost the Zerg player's economy while an Overlord is being produced.
- 6-pool - Creating a Spawning Pool upon reaching 6 control.
- 9-pool - Creating a Spawning Pool upon reaching 9 control.
- 200 pop - Maximum supply/control/psi. This can however be overcome by using spells like mind control, or the zerg can do the extractor trick, but using other building types.
- ^^ - A Korean smiley equal to :-). Resembling an anime character's smile, where the eyes fully close and curve sharply. The ^^ are eyes and a variant is ^-^.
- //OYO\\ - A Korean smiley, showing...a female....torso.

- (x x) O=('.'O) - A man boxing someone in the head.
- Map positions - Commonly referred to as hands on a clock, 3, 6, 9, 12 o'clock etc. They are meant for easy reference of a location on the map with respect to a clock. 3 o'clock would be left-middle, 6 o'clock would be bottom-middle, etc. This is on a 4 player map like temple. On maps like Hunters or BGH, other clocks can be used such as 2, 4, 7, etc.
- TvZ or PvZ or ZvZ etc - Refers to the game match-ups. The v designates versus and the other letters refer to the first letter of each race participating. Terran is T, Protoss is P, Zerg is Z. R refers to Random.
- # - Means channel. For example if someone types 'join #blood', he wants you to join channel blood.
- &/"(#&\("&GH# - Usually means your ally is in need of urgent help! Whenever your ally incoherently types nonsense, take a look at his base...
