[StarCraft Brood War Dictionary Thread]
  • Wall In - A cluster of buildings placed in such a way to prevent access beyond the wall in to enemy units. Wall in's are commonly used at the tops of ramps, and usually involve two Terran Supply Depots and a Barracks. The most common use of this build type is as Terran against Protoss opponents.
  • Waypoint - StarCraft allows you to guide units along using waypoints. Select the units, then hold down Shift. While holding Shift down, select Attack then while continuing to hold down shift, repeatedly select attack and click on each point on either the mini-map or main screen you want the units to travel to. When you are done, release shift. You can also do the same thing by right-clicking on the map, but that will issue a Move order instead. As your forces are traveling to the various waypoints, they will not stop or respond to any attacks on them. Move should only be used if you don't think the units will be attacked.
  • WO - Walk over. When someone does not show up for a game in a tournament.
  • Worker - Terran SCV, Protoss Probe, Zerg Drone.
  • Worker Rush - To take all or some of your workers and attack your enemy, usually really early in the game.
  • Worker Split or Split - To set workers to different mineral patches often in the very beginning of the game. (See cloning)
