That's the problem with girls. It's not going to be "awkward" if/when the relationship falls through. If we're real friends, then we'll stay friends. If it does get "awkward," then we'll eventually get over it. I've got three noteable relationships on this issue: #1 is now my best friend--we never dated, but she now regrets that we never did. #2 is a girl that I went out with for a couple months, and we're still excellent friends. In fact, at 6:00 tomorrow morning, I'm going to pick up her and her boyfriend (a good friend of mine, too) and we're heading down to Great America for the weekend. #3 is a girl that I had always felt awkward around, but after we dated for a while, she decided that she would avoid me altogether for the sake of "keeping things from being awkward," paradoxically making things MORE awkward at the same time.

If you're friends, things can always work out.

And as for the dance thing... I'm heading out to a ballroom dance tonight at 8:00 with some friends. The guys are too modest to dance, so they're staying at home. If you're fragile, well... I danced with an 86-year-old woman once, and she turned out ok.
